Saturation Point
Saturation Point is an eighteen month project exploring the wild spaces close to my home in the North of England. Every month in 2022, I and a guest artist delivered community foraging 'walk and talks' in local woodlands. We explored ideas around the inter-relational symbiosis between all things, we talked about folklore, plant medicine, our changing climate and sensitively gathered plant material. In my studio I extracted the natural pigments and dyed recycled cotton to create a seasonal archive of time and place.
The dyed material was then used to translate meteorological data from the region, (provided by environmental scientist Dr. Martin lord) and produce a textile artwork based on traditional ragrugging techniques.
