Saturation Point
Saturation Point: an eighteen month project exploring wild spaces close to my home in the North-West of England. During 2022, I and a guest artist delivered monthly participatory
foraging 'walk and talks' in local woodlands. We explored ideas around the inter-relational symbiosis between all things, we talked about folklore, plant medicine, our changing climate and sensitively gathered plant material. Back in the studio I extracted the natural pigments to dye recycled cotton creating a tonal archive of time and place.
The dyed material was then used to make a textile artwork using a traditional rag-rugging technique. The final piece reflecting regional meteorological data provided by Dr. Martin lord.
